Origin Doors and Windows in a Hertfordshire Cottage

Our recent installation was for a home that had been completely renovated to now accommodate Origin OW80 Windows, OB36+ Soho Doors and OI-30 Internal doors including one to the wine cellar. A stunning example of Origin products at their best.

Heath Cottage is a beautifully renovated detached property in the Hertfordshire countryside. Larger than a typical cottage but still full of character, the home has recently undergone a complete transformation — including a new extension and full replacement of all its windows and doors.

We were proud to work with the homeowners to specify and install a full suite of Origin products throughout the property. The result is a clean, modern aesthetic that still respects the traditional design of the home, with performance and visual impact in equal measure.

Origin OW-80 Flush Casement Windows

The windows throughout the property are Origin OW-80 flush casement designs, chosen for their sleek external flush external and internal appearance and outstanding performance.

Each window was carefully designed with period-style horizontal fanlights and slimline bars to replicate traditional details while offering all the benefits of modern aluminium windows.

Every window is finished in a contemporary grey, perfectly suited to the white rendered exterior. The flush frames and clean detailing sit beautifully in the new extension as well as the original building structure, giving the entire home a consistent, elegant finish.

Windows come with secure multipoint locking, contemporary handles and glazed with 28mm glass units having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. 

OB-36+ Soho Aluminium Doors

For the external doors, the homeowners opted for the steel-look OB-36+ Soho doors, which are presently one of our most sought-after designs. These doors bring the industrial styling of classic steel doors into a modern aluminium format, combining slim sightlines with the durability and thermal performance of a premium aluminium system.

We installed OB-36+ Soho doors across all elevations of the home, providing access to the garden, patio and side areas. With their consistent colour finish and true divided glazing bars, these doors make a bold design statement while providing high levels of everyday functionality.

There is a selection of doors as single doors, bifold doors and double doors. All doors come with the Origin 8 point locking facility. Doors glazed with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. 

Origin OI-30 Internal Doors

Inside the property, we also fitted Origin’s OI-30 internal doors, including a striking single door leading to the wine cellar. These internal doors complement the steel-look aesthetic used throughout the exterior, helping create a cohesive feel from room to room. Their slim aluminium profiles and glass panels bring light through the interior spaces, while providing zoned privacy and a refined industrial feel.

Complementing the Modern Exterior

The final detail that brings this project together is the use of contemporary grey tiles around the entire exterior. These, combined with the grey aluminium windows and doors, create a high-end, unified appearance that feels calm and inviting.

The new render, upgraded glazing and thoughtful colour coordination have brought this home up to a completely new standard.
